A Point of No Return

It was a normal lazy Saturday afternoon, couple weeks before my wedding day, when suddenly she asked me this question ?

What is the meaning of marriage to you ?

To be honest, even in the couple weeks before the wedding day, I never really think about this. I mean about the meaning of marriage.
So, I answered her question, with the thing that I always thought of marriage :

" It means responsibility ".

One word that for me capture all. Having a family for me, means that I have a responsibility, just a pilot driving an airplane. I need to ensure what ever neccessary to ensure that the plane reach the destination, as comfy as possible journey, with if God allowed, only experiencing minor turbulences.
Being selfish and sometimes not even take care of my self, now I have a responsibility..to my family.

Or in the more honest way, it was just me being spontaneous.

Then she smiled, and said:

" For me, marriage means Point of No Return"

"Hehh ?""

" Ya, marriage means you cant go back and reverse the whole thing, or you can not simply escape from it and choose another path".


Hmm.....


Knowing that she was a systematic and near perfectionist behaviour, I suddenly realize, that it took her a lot of consideration to step into point of no return, having no firm assurance that the journey ahead will make her happier than she was today.
Specially, that journey will be with me.
