Antri

I am an Indonesian, born and breed in Indonesia where eventually posses all Indonesian typical behaviour. Indonesian behaviour, hmm where do I start ?. Never use proper crossing area when crossing a street, never able to understand when there’s a green light on a junction it means you are NOT allowed to cross it, or practice bumper to bumper driving skill, or hmm the nearest trash bin is the location where you feel like it.

But there’s something that funny that I found on a particular behaviour, that we always practice it when we are in overseas and suddenly drop it when the plane landed in Airport.

That is queue behaviour.

It is time wasting practice but this a fair and proper way to do things. I see Indonesian queue patiently while waiting for imigration clearance or waiting the luggage to be scanned by the scanning machine. But that is when they are in Singapore or Malaysia or any other country.

Good practice, and I tend to believe they do it because they have to. This another playgroudn not like in Indonesia.

I feel like wramth covering me, when I enter the imigration process in Indonesia. Some middle ages women, just simply cutting the lines, something I cant held my anger, and I shout to them to move there.. Can they see that there’s 50 people they want to cut and this 50 people were already waited for like half an hour ?.

Another things happen when I queue for my luggage to be scanned, the line was long and I think it was around 50 meter line. When suddenly out of the blue, this family (father, wife and their two small children), just cut the line behind me of me. The lady they plan to ambush just keep quite.

“ Excuse me, can you see there’s a line of queueing here? Take the queue like everybody else ?” I said.

“ Why are you complaining ? We are not cutting your line? “ innocently the father response.

That’s it, I had enough of this.

“ Cant you these people are queueing and you just strolled in cutting the line?, Why you can queue in another people country and not do it in here? What makes you think that you have priviliges to step ahead other people rights ?”

I said loud to the guy face.

“ Yeach..yeach…queue man…” a large boo coming from people behind me.

The father looks redfaced while his children were looking up to him. Finally he move the last line. I knew he felt embarrased when this happen in front of his children, but it should never be happen in the first place if he willing to do it right from the start. Beside, cutting a line, is it a kind of behaviour that you demonstrate and presumably expect to be followed by your children ?

Sigh…another angry blog that I made.
